This page is the heart of the site. Each school year adds another layer: what Bennett studied, what he finished, what he built, what challenged him, and what became his own. The record will be small for a while. Then, quietly, it will become a childhood.
Bennett, if you are reading this as a grown man: this was all for you. We knew none of us would remember every ordinary day, so we kept enough for you to come back and see who you were becoming — and how much we loved getting to watch it.
Classical Conversations Cycle 3 provides the year's framework. CTCMath, 146 lessons. Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW). Logic of English, finishing Foundations D and moving into Essentials over the winter. Bible daily. History from the timeline. Science, PE, piano, and jiu jitsu. Year ends 28 May 2027.

Classical Conversations Cycle 2. This was the year the curriculum turned over. The Good and the Beautiful was phased out of both math and English. CTCMath took over the daily math work, alongside worksheets we wrote ourselves. Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) came in for composition, and we leaned hard into Logic of English for reading, spelling, and grammar. Bible daily. Piano every Thursday at one. Jiu jitsu four evenings a week.
It was also the year the work moved off the desk and into the house. Those projects are recorded below.

The projects, repairs, experiments, and ideas that began as a lesson and took over an afternoon. This is where knowledge becomes useful and curiosity leaves evidence behind.
Ran Cat6 through the house for the home network. Measuring, pulling cable, keeping the runs tidy, and terminating the ends so they actually work. The first project where the thing either passes or it doesn't, and you find out immediately which one you built.
Found and repaired broken water pipe in the sprinkler system. Digging to the break, cutting out the bad section, and putting it back together well enough to hold pressure.
Replaced a leaking faucet. Water off first, old one out, new one in, and then the part nobody tells you about, which is lying on your back under a sink with a wrench you can barely turn.
Painted walls. Taping, cutting in the edges, and learning that most of painting is the preparation and the cleanup, not the part that looks like painting.
Care of the ducks and maintenance of the coop. Animals do not care whether you feel like it, which is most of the lesson. The egg sales also supply the real numbers for math.
Helping maintain the family vehicles. Checking and topping fluids, tire pressure, and learning what routine care looks like before something breaks.
